Lady Gaga Opens Up About Motherhood: ‘I Really Want to Be a Mom’

Lady Gaga is looking forward to the next chapter of her life—motherhood.

The 38-year-old singer recently spoke with Access Hollywood ahead of the release of her new album, Mayhem, sharing that starting a family is one of her biggest dreams.

“I really want to be a mom,” she said with a smile. “The greatest vision I have is that.”

Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky attend the "Joker: Folie A Deux" photocall during the 81st Venice International Film Festival at Palazzo del Casino on September 04, 2024 in Venice, Italy.

Gaga, who got engaged to entrepreneur Michael Polansky in 2024 after dating since 2020, has previously opened up about her desire to have children. In a January interview with Elle, she shared that she and Polansky have had deep conversations about starting a family and that she feels “ready” to embrace motherhood.

As she envisions raising children, Gaga is committed to allowing them the freedom to be themselves.

“That’s something Michael and I have talked about a lot — allowing our kids to be their own people,” she told Elle. “It’s such an intense thing for kids coming into the world. They’re told how to think, what to believe, and even how to eat… I just want to let my kids find out who they are.”

When it comes to her fame, Gaga hopes her future children will understand that she always stayed true to herself, but she wants them to form their own opinions about her career.

“I would want my children to understand that whatever my artistry means to them is totally up to them,” she explained. “I would never actually want to shape it or tell them how to think about me.”

As she prepares for her next musical era, Gaga is also looking ahead to a more personal journey—one that she hopes will lead her to motherhood.
