Bunnie Xo is opening up about her emotional journey toward expanding her family.
On Tuesday, March 4, the Dumb Blonde podcast host, 44, shared a heartfelt TikTok video updating fans on her in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments alongside husband Jelly Roll. The stepmom of two revealed she is currently undergoing hormone treatments and daily injections as part of the process.
“I’m literally going through IVF treatments right now — the hormones, the shots, all that,” Bunnie shared. “I’m going through all of the emotions, the rollercoaster, [and] the worry, just so that I can have a little piece of my husband and me — just a little piece wrapped in skin — to add to the other two beautiful children that we have together.”
Bunnie, whose real name is Alyssa DeFord, and the “All My Life” singer, 40, have been vocal about their desire to grow their family. Last June, Jelly Roll revealed on the Bussin’ with the Boys podcast that his health journey — including losing over 60 pounds — was motivated by his hopes of becoming a father again.
“My wife and I are talking about having a baby, and it really made me realize that at almost 40, I was like, it means I got to live to at least 60,” he shared. “I got to see this kid into college.”
In January, Bunnie spoke candidly on her Dumb Blonde podcast about past pregnancy losses and how healing from childhood trauma has helped her feel ready to become a parent.
“I’ve helped raise Bailee since she was 7, and I think that also showed me that, hey, I’m not gonna f— up a kid’s life too badly,” she said, referring to Jelly Roll’s 16-year-old daughter from a previous relationship. The couple also cares for Jelly Roll’s 8-year-old son, Noah Buddy.
Now, Bunnie says she’s ready to welcome a child of her own.
“I just want a little piece of J and I together,” she said. “I feel like I can do this.”
The couple continues to share their journey with fans, embracing every step of the process with honesty and hope.
