A US border patrol agent was reportedly shot to death by an illegal immigrant, a few hours after Donald Trump took charge of the White House.
This left thousands stranded outside the country, leading to a situation of fear, panic, and uncertainty.
The agent was killed in Vermont while making efforts to carry out a traffic stop when all of a sudden, the attacker took out his gun and shot him.
Reports proved how the suspect had overstayed the duration mentioned on his visa and was fearful that he would be caught. This is why he chose to shoot the agent dead by aiming for his neck.
As per reports from local media outlets, the incident arose at 3:15 pm local time and the attacker was also pronounced dead after being shot at in the horror gunfight that unfolded.
Another woman also was severely injured as a result of the barrage of bullets flying in the air.
It’s still unclear what her current health status is. Investigations have confirmed the name of the victim killed. His identity released was Border Patrol Agent David Maland who was only 44 years old.
