SAG Awards 2025 Worst Dressed: Feathers, Ruffles, and Fashion Fails Take Over the Red Carpet

The 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards red carpet was filled with stunning fashion moments—but not all of them were for the right reasons.

From bizarre feathers and overwhelming ruffles to awkward silhouettes and clashing patterns, some of Hollywood’s biggest stars missed the mark with their outfit choices at this year’s event.

Cynthia Erivo lead the 2025 SAG Awards worst dressed list as she arrived in a metallic, silver turtleneck gown that contained an excessive amount of feathers around her neck

Hosted by Kristen Bell, the ceremony—streaming live on Netflix—brought together A-listers at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles to celebrate the best in film and television. However, while many dazzled in showstopping ensembles, others left fans puzzled with their questionable fashion statements.

The Worst Dressed Stars of the Night

Cynthia Erivo led the list in a metallic silver turtleneck gown with an excessive feathered collar that overwhelmed her entire look. Not far behind was Jamie Lee Curtis, whose sparkly black dress featured oversized feather embellishments across the chest and sleeves, making for a dramatic—but not necessarily flattering—statement.

Timothée Chalamet turned heads for the wrong reasons in a bold lime green shirt paired with a leather suit, while Zoey Deschanel’s buttoned black gown with a white top and bowtie felt too understated for the glamorous occasion.

Joey King took a risk in a sheer black cutout gown with a turtleneck and dangling diamond chains, but the overall effect was disjointed. Meanwhile, Jane Fonda, who was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award, donned a sparkly tan dress with an eccentric black pattern and tassels, a look that divided opinions.

Fashion Missteps That Got People Talking

  • Zoe Saldana’s bold gown featured an unusual shoulder piece that many on X (formerly Twitter) likened to a giant hair scrunchie.
  • Danielle Deadwyler stunned audiences—but not in a good way—with a dramatic tiered red gown that swallowed her frame.
  • Ali Ahn stepped out in a cream dress with an oversized fur piece, which some compared to a plant-like accessory rather than a fashion statement.
  • Gia Coppola’s gown overloaded with gems, floral embellishments, and ruffles made sure she stood out, though for all the wrong reasons.
  • Moeka Hoshi and Sasheer Zamata both suffered from awkward silhouettes and busy patterns, making their outfits feel chaotic rather than couture.
  • Eleanor Matsuura’s sheer lime green gown left little to the imagination, especially when paired with clashing neon heels.
  • Banita Sandhu turned heads in a strangely structured metallic frock, while Joely Fisher looked more ready for a Taylor Swift concert than an awards ceremony in her sparkling red pantsuit.
  • Anna Sitar, the TikTok sensation, walked the carpet in an ill-fitting, plunging black gown that felt more like a last-minute choice than a red carpet statement.

Ruffles were a major theme of the night, though not necessarily for the better. Actresses Monica Padman and Roxy Striar both made fashion faux pas in over-the-top ruffled gowns that left viewers scratching their heads.

While fashion is always subjective, these looks sparked plenty of discussion—proving that sometimes, taking a risk on the red carpet doesn’t always pay off.

Jamie Lee Curtis came in a close second thanks to her black sparkly dress, which also contained huge feathers all over the chest area and sleeves

What the frock? Danielle Deadwyler also missed the mark with her over-the-top red tiered gown

Actress Ali Ahn hit the red carpet in a cream dress that had a huge piece of fur that resembled some sort of plant
