While no one can replace Audrey Hepburn, you can now live like the beloved Hollywood star.
The late My Fair Lady actress’s former Swiss estate, an 18th-century villa named La Paisible, has just hit the market with Knight Frank for 19 million Swiss francs (approximately $20.8 million). Hepburn, who passed away in 1993 at the age of 63, called this stunning property home from 1963 until her death. Less than a decade later, her sons sold the estate to its current owners, Katharina and Jean-Marc Beaujolin, chairman of ECH Ltd., Bloomberg reports.
“The house is called La Paisible, which means ‘peaceful place,’ and it really is a peaceful place,” Katharina told Bloomberg, adding that Hepburn was her favorite actress growing up. “It has quite the amazing atmosphere.”
A Historic Estate with Timeless Elegance
Located in the picturesque town of Tolochenaz, about 30 minutes from Geneva, the Grade II-listed mansion spans approximately 10,763 square feet and sits on over 40 acres of lush grounds. The three-story residence boasts 12 bedrooms and eight bathrooms, offering a mix of historic charm and modern upgrades.
Since acquiring the home in 2001, the Beaujolins have carefully renovated the estate, modernizing the kitchen, updating electrical systems, remodeling the bathrooms, and adding extra guest rooms while preserving its original character. Signature design elements include terra-cotta and oak parquet flooring, five fireplaces, two stately staircases, a library, and an elevator.
A Tribute to Hepburn’s Legacy
Hepburn’s presence is still felt throughout the estate. A plaque at the entrance honors the Breakfast at Tiffany’s star, and white rosebushes—gifted to her by Givenchy for her 60th birthday—continue to bloom in the backyard.
Beyond the home’s interior, the grounds feature a 50-foot heated swimming pool and ample parking for up to 15 cars. The estate has also been a gathering place for the Beaujolins, with summer parties and even a 150-guest wedding for one of their six sons. Now, with their children grown, the couple is ready to downsize.
“We’ve decided to do some downsizing,” Katharina shared. “It’s just the two of us in this big house, and it felt like the right moment to make a change.”
