Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan doesn’t just write about life on the ranch — he lives it in real life, too. The powerhouse writer-director has just purchased a spectacular ranch in Wyoming for just under $5 million, and the property is absolutely stunning.
TMZ reports that Sheridan, 54, bought a 179-acre ranch in Wyoming’s Star Valley, a very rural location that’s about 65 miles from Jackson Hole. The property is called Papa’s Creek Ranch, and it’s a slice of natural splendor that rivals anything the Dutton family owns on Yellowstone.
The listing for the property touts the opportunities for fishing and waterfowl hunting in “one of Wyoming’s most scenic valleys.” The Salt River runs through the land for 1.35 miles, while Papa’s Creek runs for more than a mile and a half on the property.
Both the river and the creek are protected by Wyoming’s access laws, with no conservation easements or restrictions.
There are two small buildings on the property, but most of the land is completely unspoiled, offering sweeping mountain views of the Salt River Range to the East and the Webster Range to the West.
Sheridan purchased the land through an LLC, and it’s unclear whether he intends to reside there or use it for filming on one of his many television and film projects.
Sheridan is no stranger to life on the ranch, as he already owns Bosque Ranch in Weatherford, Texas, as well as the 6666 Ranch in King County, Texas, which he has used to film extensive parts of Yellowstone and other shows. The 6666 Ranch is also reportedly the setting for an upcoming Yellowstone spinoff titled 6666.
