Following a judge’s decision to reduce his bond, Karmelo Anthony—the 17-year-old charged in the fatal stabbing of Austin Metcalf on April 2 in Frisco—has been released from jail under a strict set of court-ordered conditions, according to Fox 4 News.
As part of his release terms, Anthony is now under house arrest and must wear an ankle monitor at all times. He is not allowed to leave his home without prior court approval and must remain under the supervision of a parent or designated adult.
The court has also issued a no-contact order, strictly prohibiting him from communicating with Metcalf’s family in any form. He may visit his attorney’s office, but only for appointments pre-approved by the court.
In addition, Anthony must check in with the bailiff every Friday morning until his case is reassigned. Should his family relocate for safety reasons, they are required to notify the Collin County Sheriff’s Office immediately.
Any violation of these conditions could result in Anthony being returned to custody. While not a formal requirement, the judge strongly advised him to avoid using social media during his release.
