Twins Reveal Surprising Results After Following Vegan and Meat Diets in New Study

Adventurous twins Ross and Hugo Turner are back with the results of their latest health experiment — and the findings are turning heads.

Known for their bold self-experiments, the brothers previously made waves by embarking on a 12-week challenge where one followed a strict vegan diet, while the other stuck to a meat-heavy, omnivorous plan. Their goal? To compare the impact of plant-based versus animal-based eating on their bodies.

Speaking to UNILAD, Hugo, who took on the vegan side of the study, shared one of his most challenging moments during the experiment.

“I got so annoyed one day about being vegan,” he admitted. “I said, ‘Right, I’m just gonna go buy garlic bread, and that’s it.’” But his frustration turned to disappointment when a friend pointed out the bread contained butter — a no-go on a vegan diet.

In a moment of defeat, Hugo said he “literally threw [the bread] across the room.”

Now, Hugo and Ross have done another animal vs plant-based challenge, and this time, it’s to do with vitamins. Instead of doing it for 12 weeks, the brothers did it for six months.

In this instance, Hugo took the plant-based vitamins (from Vivo Life) while Ross took the equivalent animal-based products. Hugo’s vitamins were in a liquid form, while Ross’s were in tablet form.

Half way through their six-month study, the brothers noticed ‘slight differences’, but when it came to completing the full six months, the results were very clear.

“After six months, blood tests revealed the positive effects of incorporating plant-based supplements, with a noticeable improvement in Hugo’s Omega-3 index and a significant boost in his vitamin D3 levels,” Ross shared in a recent Instagram video.

This vitamin-focused experiment won’t be the last for Hugo and Ross. They recently invited UNILAD readers to vote on their next challenge via an online poll. The options included: fasting vs non-fasting, 1 vs 12 rep workouts, and ab stimulation pads vs sit-ups.

The results are in — the twins will be exploring the effects of fasting vs non-fasting diets over the next 12 weeks to see how each impacts their bodies.

Speaking to UNILAD about the upcoming challenge, they said: “We’re excited to kick off our next 12-week fitness study — fasting vs non-fasting — because, just like with our previous studies, we always uncover something valuable that others can apply to their own lives.”

The Turner twins aim to get started on this new health experiment in the near future.
