Israel has confirmed the arrival of a significant shipment of heavy-duty bombs, authorized for delivery by former U.S. President Donald Trump.
A newly surfaced video circulating online appears to show cranes unloading shipping containers—allegedly carrying the bombs—onto trucks at Ashdod Port.
Among the munitions received is the MK-84, an unguided 2,000-pound bomb. The Biden administration had previously blocked exports of these bombs to Israel, citing concerns over their potential use in densely populated areas, particularly in Gaza.
Although Trump’s administration initially held back one shipment, he had previously approved the transfer of thousands of similar bombs following Hamas’ October 7, 2023, attack on Israel. That attack triggered a full-scale conflict with heavy casualties on both sides.
Last month, Trump confirmed that he had lifted the hold on this particular shipment, emphasizing that Israel had purchased the bombs and was entitled to receive them.
While a ceasefire agreement remains in effect, the arrival of these weapons has sparked concerns about a potential escalation in hostilities. Some fear this shipment could signal a new phase in the ongoing conflict.
