On Monday, Charles met with outgoing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at his private estate in Norfolk. Trudeau, who had ongoing tensions with Trump, discussed key matters with the King.
For months, Trump had mocked Trudeau and even suggested annexing Canada, referring to the prime minister as “Governor Trudeau” and proposing to make Canada the 51st U.S. state.
Following his meeting with King Charles, Trudeau shared on X that they had a detailed discussion about pressing issues for Canadians, including the country’s sovereignty and independent future.
A source close to both leaders noted that the conversation carried significant weight, particularly as Trudeau’s tenure comes to an end and a new Canadian prime minister takes office. King Charles remains focused on Canada during this transition.
